Hello Caucasus, Off the Beaten Track

The Caucasus, hosting three countries is your new destination not to miss. Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are three neighboring countries with different traditions, cultures, languages spoken, and alphabets written. All three countries differ with their nature and life-style: Georgia is known as the cradle of wine, Armenia is the first Christian country in the world, while Baku in Azerbaijan is called the new Dubai.

This trip, carefully planned for you, will offer the discovery of a new region and new cultures all marked with hospitality, safety and doors open for tourists.

Get ready to experience the different and unique cultures, nature and people of the Caucasus.

Day 1

You are about to meet three countries in one region, all different and fascinating, welcoming and willing to open their beautiful countries to you. The tour starts with Armenia: Barev Dzez and Welcome!

  • Arrival at Yerevan international airport and transfer to the hotel
  • Free time for rest in Yerevan
  • Dinner at the traditional Armenian restaurant
  • Overnight in Yerevan

Day 2

Yerevan is the capital of Armenia. The city dates back to the 8th century and is often called the ‘Pink City’ because of the color of the stones used to build much of the city center. Lovely cafes and nice food, delicious dry fruits and hospitality await you in this city.

  • Guided tour of Yerevan City – visit the mother of Armenia, famous Cascade construction and the Republic square
  • Lunch in Yerevan
  • Visit to Garni temple and Gerhard monastery
  • Dinner and overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3

Exploring Armenia and visiting the largest Sevan Lake, enjoying panoramic views and the charming Sevanakin monastery. Did you know that Armenia is considered the first nation to have adopted Christianity as the state religion?

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Yerevan
  • Transfer to the Sevan Lake – the largest lake in Armenia. We will have the cruise on the lake and visit the bird’s island
  • Transfer to the Sevanakin Monastery -located on the top of the hill, with the beautiful panoramic views of the lake Sevan
  • Lunch at the restaurant in the Sevan lake surroundings
  • Free Time
  • Dinner serving the famous Sevan lake fish and an overnight in Sevan

Day 4

On this fourth day of the tour, you will travel to Georgia. The road, lasting around 5 hours will be impressive as we will drive through charming sceneries of mountain tops, rivers and forests. Arrival to Georgia calls for a fiesta. So, once done with the check-in, we will enjoy Georgian food and Supra.

  • Transfer to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia
  • Lunch in Tbilisi
  • Free time and time to rest
  • Dinner at the traditional Georgian restaurant with traditional dances, folk music and dishes.

Day 5

Sightseeing tour of the old Tbilisi starts with a visit to the XIII century Metekhi temple built at the edge of the rocky banks of the Mtkvari. At different times, it was used as the fortress as well as the residence of the Georgian kings.
Further we move to the ancient capital and current religious center of Georgia- museum city Mtskheta located just 30-minute drive from Tbilisi.

  • Transfer to Mtskheta – The ancient capital and religious center of Georgia. It is a museum city on the list of the world heritage sights of UNESCO. Among the number of significant archaeological and religious monuments in and around the town, we will visit the most important one – Svetitskhoveli (11th c.)- a magnificent cathedral of cross-dome design, known as the burial site of Christ ‘s robe.

  • Transfer to Tbilisi
  • Dinner at a restaurant
  • Overnight in Tbilisi

Day 6

Visit to Kazbegi when in Georgia is a must. Gergeti Trinity church is the most photographed venue for a reason. Get ready to be charmed and do not forget the Ananuri complex and water reservoir on the road. This day promises to be enchanting.

  • Guided tour of Gergeti Thrinity Church in Kazbegi – the old Georgian Church is located under the Mount Kazbek, 2170m above the sea level, built in the 14th century.

  • Overnight in Gudauri

Day 7

Gori is a town famous for being the birthplace of notorious Stalin aka Ioseb Jugashvili, so let’s have a look at his museum.

And then, enjoy Kutaisi, main city of Imereti region, famous for its architecture, humor and the home of Imeretian Khachapuri.

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Gudauri
  • Transfer to Gori – small city, well known as the birth place of Joseph Stalin
  • Guided tour of Stalin Museum
  • Lunch on the way to Kutaisi
  • Guided tour to UNESCO protected Gelati and Bagrati complexes followed by a visit to Motsameta monastery
  • Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi

Day 8

Mesmerizing Prometheus cave, boat ride in fascinating Martivili canyon and “White Perl” of the Black Sea -Batumi await you today.

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Kutaisi
  • Visit to the Prometheus cave, which is famous for its stalactites and stalagmites. It is one of the most beautiful caves in Georgia, where underground temperature is always 16 Celsius degrees.
  • Visit to Martvili Canyon with the boat trip through the canyon
  • Transfer to Batumi – city located on the coast of the Black Sea
  • Lunch on the way to Batumi
  • Free time in Batumi
  • Dinner in a restaurant with the sea view
  • Overnight in Batumi

Day 9

Exploring Batumi, its old and new features and enjoying the long seaside walks.

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Batumi
  • Guided tour of Batumi – tastefully renovated Old Town combined with a small forest of eye-catching tower buildings of new architecture.
  • Lunch in a restaurant with local food
  • Free time till dinner. Optional visit to Batumi botanical garden
  • Dinner and overnight in Batumi

Day 10

And off we go to the eastern Georgia, home of wine and beautiful sceneries. Sighnaghi – the city of love with tiny streets will take you back in time and bring the serenity with the natural mix of nature and authenticity.

  • Lunch on the way to Sighnaghi
  • Guided tour of Sighnaghi – the “City of love”, overlooking the Alazani valley, with magnificent views of the Great Caucasus Range. Its tiny streets make you feel like you are in the medieval times.
  • Dinner with the home-made Georgian wine
  • Overnight in Sighnaghi

Day 11

Hello Azerbaijan, the third country in our tour, famous for the hospitable people, diverse architecture, delicious sweets and the world’s largest inland body of water – the Caspian Sea.

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Sighnaghi
  • Transfer to Azerbaijan. Transport change at the border
  • Arrival to the summer resort Sheki, famous for traditional carpets and traditional houses.
  • Lunch in Sheki
  • Guided tour of Sheki Khan Palace – the summer residence of Khans, built in 1797
  • Dinner and overnight in Sheki

Day 12

Sheki, Gabala, Ateshgah and Baku – we are exploring Azerbaijan today.

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Sheki
  • Transfer to Gabala – year-round resort, surrounded by mountains and home to the traditional tea serving Azerbaijani way.
  • Lunch on the way to the Ateshgah
  • Transfer to the Ateshgah – the castle-like Temple of Fire Worshippers in Surakhani Town
  • Transfer to Baku
  • Dinner and overnight in Baku.

Day 13

Baku tour, flame towers and Caspian Sea coast walk is what is on the menu today. Old and well preserved, dynamic and charming Old Baku is a place not to miss.

  • Guided tour of Baku with lunch – Azerbaijan’s capital offers a fascinating Soviet legacy, well-known flame towers – a trio of skyscrapers, representing fire and a beautiful old city center.
