Big Journey to Georgia

We strongly believe that you are just a visit away from falling in love with Georgia!

Most of the people who have ever been here call it their second home and we count on you being one of those who are touched and in love with our homeland. The nature, weather and warm-hearted people will always make you feel welcome and loved, following old Georgian saying – “Guest is from God”.

We planned with care your trip to ensure that you see the best we have, visiting every region of Georgia from the capital to the mountains, ancient cities and the Black Sea coast including the modern and beautiful city of Batumi.

The tour lasts 12 days and is based on FB (full board: breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Day 1

Welcome to Georgia! We will greet you at Tbilisi International Airport and accompany to the hotel. Later on a delicious dinner awaits you at a restaurant with music and folk performance.

Day 2

Let’s explore Kakheti. This region is most famous for its wine-making traditions. Home to Georgian traditional wine-making, 70% of all Georgian wine is made here.

  • Breakfast at the Hotel in Tbilisi
  • Transfer to Kakheti
  • Transfer to Sighnaghi – the “City of love”, overlooking the Alazani valley, with magnificent views of the Great Caucasus Range. Its tiny cobblestone streets, tiled roofs and wooden balconies take you back in time.
  • Lunch in Sighnaghi
  • Transfer to Tsinandali Estate – the place where Georgian wine was first bottled
  • Wine tasting at the famous Tsinandali winery
  • Walking tour in Tsinandali garden, where rarest plants of Georgia are exhibited
  • Transfer to Tbilisi and dinner at the restaurant on the way to Tbilisi
  • Overnight in Tbilisi

Day 3

Mtskheta, Ananuri and Kazbegi – old capital, fascinating water reservoir and mesmerizing mountains await you today.

  • Breakfast at the Hotel in Tbilisi
  • Transfer to Mtskheta – The ancient capital and religious center of Georgia. It is a museum city on the list of the world heritage sights of UNESCO. Among the number of significant archaeological and religious monuments in and around the town, we will visit the most important one –  Svetitskhoveli (11th c.)- a magnificent cathedral of cross-dome design, known as the burial site of Christ ‘s robe.
  • Transfer to Kazbegi
  • Stop at the Ananuri complex
  • Lunch on the way to Kazbegi
  • Guided tour of Gergeti Thrinity Church in Kazbegi – the old Georgian Church is located under the Mount Kazbek, 2170m above the sea level, built in the 14th century. The views here will mesmerize you, we promise!
  • Transfer to Tbilisi
  • Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi

Day 4

On the fourth day of the tour we go south-east to the Kura river gorge, high up 800m above the sea level to visit Borjomi. Home to Georgian mineral water, Borjomi is a picturesque place with large-leaved and coniferous forests surrounded by majestic Caucasian mountains. The famous Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe is a place we will pay a visit as well.

  • Borjomi mineral water tasting and walking tour in the National Park

  • Transfer to Rabati Castle – built in the 13th century, Rabati castle developed under the influence of different cultures, reflected in its architecture. You will find a Church, a Mosque, a Minaret and a Synagogue within the 7 hectares of the Complex.
  • Transfer to a restaurant for the dinner
  • Overnight in Akhaltsikhe

Day 5

Your day will start from Vardzia cave city. Vardzia looks like it was taken directly from the pages of Lord of the Rings. In reality it is a cave-palace-monastery built not by mystical creatures but by Georgians in 12-13 centuries for their fabled queen Tamar. Absolutely charming Kutaisi with Gelati and Bagrati complexes await us after Vardzia.

  • Breakfast at the Hotel in Akhaltsikhe
  • Transfer to Vardzia – cave city. Vardzia is not just a set of random rooms cut in rocks but a multi-storied complex with streets, tunnels and stairs leading to monasteries, temples, fortresses, baths, libraries dwelling houses and so forth. In case of an enemy attack the monastery turned into a fortress for inhabitants and could host up to 20, 000 people.
  • Transfer to Kutaisi
  • Lunch in Kutaisi
  • Guided tour to UNESCO protected Gelati and Bagrati complexes followed by a visit to Motsameta monastery
  • Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi

Day 6

Svaneti is the most beautiful region of Georgia. The region is located in the Caucasus Mountains and is surrounded with beautiful peaks and forests. Svaneti is unique with its architecture of the Svan Towers. On the road to Svaneti we will pay a short visit to Zugdidi and the Dadiani Palace.

  • Breakfast at the Hotel in Kutaisi
  • Transfer to Mestia – the center of Svaneti region.
  • On the way to Svaneti stop in Zugdidi to visit Dadiani Palace
  • Lunch in Mestia
  • Transfer to Zuruldi Mount with a cable car – discover amazing views of Mestia and the most beautiful mountain Ushba
  • Transfer back to Mestia and free time
  • Dinner at the local restaurant – enjoy local food, dances and music
  • Overnight in Mestia

Day 7

Svaneti tour continues and we keep on enjoying the beautiful scenery.

  • Breakfast at the Hotel in Mestia
  • Transfer to Ushguli on special 4X4 cars – Ushguli is the highest village in Europe and is located at the altitude of 2300 meters above the sea level. It is also famous for its many Svan Towers, legends and Lamaria Church.
  • Lunch in Ushguli
  • Transfer to Mestia and free time
  • Dinner and overnight in Mestia

Day 8

Svaneti wants you to stay more  than just for a day. As you have some free time planned, we advise to explore the mountainous area around you.

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Mestia
  • Free time for optional activities to explore the mountainous area around you. We advise you to visit:
    • Chalaadi glacier
    • Koruldi lakes
    • Mkheri Church
  • Lunch at the local restaurant
  • Master class of making Kubdari (Svan traditional dish) and tasting your chef-d’œuvre
  • Dinner at the local restaurant with traditional dance and folk music
  • Overnight in Mestia

Day 9

From the mountains to the seaside, off we go to the shores of Black Sea in Adjara. Batumi is a lovely seaside city with a long boulevard, beautiful parks, port and a botanical garden. The city is charming and fun due to the stylish cafes and clubs.

Day 10

Batumi botanical garden with 111 hectares of land is a fascinating scenery hosting old and new, local and foreign plants since 1912.

  • Lunch in Batumi followed by free time to enjoy the sea and the beautiful surroundings

Day 11

Gamarjoba Tbilisi! Today you will enjoy the sightseeing tour of old Tbilisi starting with a visit to Metekhi temple. This famous monument was built in the XIII century at the edge of the rocky banks of the Mtkvari, at different times, it was used as a fortress as well as the residence of the Georgian kings.
